A few months back, I tried to add some structure to my blog by divvying the days up into special categories. Monday was going to be all sorts of motivational things, Tuesday was for random tidbits of interest that I found floating in cyberspace. Somewhere along the way, this idea got thrown by the wayside and I continued on into random blogging oblivion. Now I, being super Type-A, need structure in my life. I find that I struggle to put whatever happens to be on my brain in words, unless it’s revolving around an overarching theme.
That said, I am going to attempt to bring back some thematic days so I have a focal point for all my thoughts and my readers have some idea of what to expect when they read this blog.
While the jury is still out as to how I want the week to be structured, I am definitely on board with Mondays centering around inspiration and motivation. Because I usually choose the weekends as my time for rest, I have a tendency to feel very ‘blah’ by the time Monday rolls around. Couple that with the start of another work week and I find myself really dreading Mondays. I’m hoping that by focusing on pictures, stories, and videos that are positive and uplifting, I can pull myself out of the funk that is the “Mondays”. After all, who wants to start the beginning of the week in a bad mood, when it can instead be viewed as a fresh start?
So, without further ado, I introduce to you the inaugural Motivational Monday post. Again.

That’s what I’ve got for now – I would love for everybody to participate in this as well. Send me articles, videos, pictures – anything that you find motivating and/or inspirational. You can always catch me by email, Twitter, Facebook, or just leave a comment down below.
Food For Thought: What do you think of my idea of having some themed days? Is there a particular theme you would like for me to dedicate a day to? Let me know!

Love all of these motivational pins! The kid president video is so cute. I watched it with my roommate the other day and that is the definition of inspirational. Happy Monday
Thanks, Sarah! I know, the kid in the video is just adorable, isn’t he? Also, I bet B-More was a little crazy last night!!
I saw this tweeted out earlier today and it definitely is in line with your motivational monday post: http://greatist.com/fitness/most-inspiring-health-and-fitness-mantras/?utm_source=feedblitz&utm_medium=FeedBlitzRss&utm_campaign=greatist
Also, I’m a big fan of themed days
I think it’s a good way to stay organized. I wish I had more of them and have been contemplating doing something similar.
Thanks for the link, Allison! Definitely what I needed this Monday
I would be curious to hear from you about what themes you’re interested in for your blog, too.
I was thinking something breakfast related because it’s my favorite meal of the day. And instead of having all my mental health/R.D. progress scattered around in various posts, having a dedicated day where I talk about that kind of stuff.
Another idea I was thinking about was doing food spotlights (like picking a fruit or vegetable, talking about it’s health benefits, ways to eat it, recipes, etc.),
I can definitely get behind this! We should have a blogging date and we can discuss it so our boyfriends don’t have to listen to us
For real though haha. While Will is not a big fan of being in NYC, I’m sure it’s nice to have a break from all my healthy blogger life shenanigans.
